Visible Energy & Invisible Energy (July 2, 2007)
Feng Shui means “Wind Water”. The Wind Represents Heaven’s invisible energy and the Water represents Earth’s visible energy. The Taoist places the humans between the Heaven (=Universe) and the Earth. In other words, the humans are constantly influenced by the energy of the Heaven as well as the Earth.
The Energy of the Earth is more physically manifested by natural characteristics, such as oceans, rivers, mountains, valleys, hills, deserts, and so on. For us, the Energy of the Earth is easily recognizable to understand. Many of us are sensitive to the nature. For this reason, most of the Feng Shui practitioners emphasize on this aspect to improve Energy flow in space.
On the other hand, the Energy of the Heaven is more subtle and invisible. In the modern society, most of us do not take into account the influence of the planets in their lives, except consulting daily horoscopes. Major ancient esoteric schools, such as Kaballah, Hinduism and Taoism, studied astrological influences in depth and found the Universal Laws (Truth) which guides us to understand how we are affected by planetary movement.
According to Vedic Astrology, the astrological influence by birth is considered part of “Karma.” There are so many unknown influences to your life due to when and where you were born. This type of Karma is slightly different from the rest of the Karmas and it is not possible to remove it since you cannot change the date and location of your birth. (I will talk more about Karma in a separate occasion,) However, there are numerous ways of rectifying and minimizing the adverse effects if any, or strengthening the positive aspects of your astrological influences. You can also overcome all the challenges that you were burdened by birth or relocation! Vedic Astrology is closely linked with the traditional practice of Yoga and chanting Mantras. Vedic Astrology will show you about your strength and weakness according to the Heaven’s invisible energy…
Taoists also developed its own astrology. It is completely a different set of study in astrology than the Western or Vedic Astrology. The modern approach frequently used now is called “Tsu Wei (Purple King)”. Knowledge of this technique is limited only to traditional Feng Shui/I-Ching Masters. Feng Shui schools or certification programs in the US usually do not teach this method.
Kabbalah also discusses intensively astrological influences on humans. For instance, they divide a year into 52 days according to 7 major planets (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn) and create 7 periods per year. They also establish 7 years cycles of the entire life (1-7 years, 8-14 years, etc.)
These are just some examples of how ancient esoteric traditions tried to understand the Universal rules and found out the Truth about the Universal influences. Whichever tradition that you would like to follow, they will reveal the Truth to you as guidance. They will show that there are things that are constantly working beyond your Mind or “Free Will.” That is the invisible energy of the Universe…
